TAC Support Specialist

As part of a dedicated team of support specialists, you will be providing support to our team of Technicians, Field services on various, hardware, software and networking issues. You will be responsible for:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • The resolution of support calls using advanced remote diagnostics and troubleshooting tools;
    • Providing in-depth technical support remotely, as well as over the phone;
    • Performing remote application installations, configurations, and upgrades;
    • Identifying and documenting product performance issues;
    • Maintaining a client database containing all information and activities relating to our customers.

PREREQUISITES:


    • College degree in electronics – telecommunications preferred;
    • Minimum of 2 years in a similar position;
    • Previous work experience in the 911/Public Safety sector;
    • Working knowledge of telecommunications, radio and computer aided dispatch (CAD) equipment operation;
    • Working knowledge of law enforcement and communications center dispatch rules and procedures;
    • Previous experience interfacing with a NCIC/State system;
    • Working knowledge of emergency medical dispatch instruction protocols;
    • Experience with a Law Enforcement Records Management System (RMS);
    • Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL;
    • Previous software support experience;
    • Knowledge on TDM and T5 technologies an asset;
    • Very good knowledge of networking, VoIP, as well as Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 servers and workstations;
    • Good knowledge of hardware such as hubs, switches, servers and workstations;
    • Good knowledge of electronics, telephone systems (Meridian, Norstar, Avaya, etc.) and radio consoles;
    • Experience in telephony, and data communication standards;
    • Experience with radio communication standards and LMR radio interfaces;
    • Good technical knowledge of computer hardware and software;
    • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to handle pressure;
    • Available to work on rotation shifts;
    • Strong networking background, Cisco certification is an asset;
    • Strong communication skills in English. Spanish is an asset;
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and managing multiple priorities;
    • Availability to work on –call in emergency situations;
    • Willingness to spend 2 months in Montreal for initial training;
    • Passport required;
    • Able and willing to do 24/7 shift work.
