Intrado is fully committed to standards-based NG9-1-1 and, in keeping with its goal of advancing 9-1-1 into a next-generation network, is introducing a resource center that will house educational materials, documents from other companies and organizations, and additional important information.

It is a critical time in the history of 9-1-1 and special attention must be paid to the changes in technology, standards needed to ensure interoperability, and policy changes that are necessary to move the legacy 9-1-1 systems into a more robust and dynamic technology. Currently, much is being written about next-generation 9-1-1 and the new standards that will be needed to support an IP-based 9-1-1 system. The links on this page will provide more information on these topics. We ask that you carefully review the draft i3 technical specification and its potential role in the delivery of next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) emergency communication. More needs to be studied and learned about the operational, technical, regulatory and financial implications of the i3 technical specification before it can be fully and successfully implemented with NG9-1-1.
