Abandoned Call

Definition:

An Abandoned Call is an emergency Call in which the caller disconnects before the Call can be answered by the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point).

Call is automatically disconnected when the Public Safety Answering Point telecommunicator hangs up.

Public Safety Answering Point. This is the 9-1-1 centric name for dispatch centers, and can be used to describe the centers that answer 9-1-1 calls.

Public Safety Answering Point Directory Number. These are dialed digits which route a call to a PSAP.

Emergency Location Immediate Answer. Used to query the location of a mobile subscriber.
